The Coachella music festival was once again a fantastic success this year. As one of the largest music festivals in the united states, and in competition all over the world, the festival brings nearly 100,000 festival goers to the Empire Polo Field in Coachella Valley. The Empire Polo Field is an enormous polo field normally home to jockey’s and their horses, but every summer in late April or early May music fans descend on Coachella Valley in droves. This year, The Coachella Music Festival brought some of the biggest names in music down to the more quaint area of the Coachella Valley. Prince, Roger Waters, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, and the Raconteurs were some of the headliners of this years concert. The Coachella Music festival can be seen as a place to monitor the growth of artists as they move up the ranks. In 2003, Jack Johnson was considered an burgeoning artist with a limited fan base relative to the superstars. Now he is the big man on campus, which is especially meaningful considering the growth of the Coachella Music Festival. The Coachella Valley is home to Palm Springs, and area renowned for its courting of the rich and famous and the cultural elites of our times. The Architecture of Palm Springs stands out against the grain as some of the more interesting that can be found, especially in such a concentrated area. It is of no surprise then that the Coachella Valley is now home to one of the largest summer music festivals in the world. Filmmakers have long been making Palm Springs their private getaway from Hollywood life. Attracted by the surroundings and the culture being forged there, many involved in the arts have decided to enjoy the local flavor.
