Garner Valley Homes

Garner Valley is a beautiful area nestled in the San Jacinto Mountains. Bordered by the pines of National Forest area, the area experiences four distinct seasons and boundless recreational activities. The famous Pacific Crest trail from Canada to Mexico winds along the top of the eastern mountains bordering the valley. While Garner Vally just touches the border of nature, it is not remote or isolated in any way.

Historically, in 1905 a landowner named Robert Garner purchased 1700 acres from its former owner and his Garner Ranch grew to 9500 acres. Over the years, as the cameras came in, Garner Ranch was home to shows like Bonanza and other Hollywood stars such as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, and more.

The beauty of Garner Vally is how it allows residents to enjoy the exquisite beauty of the area and yet be in the midst of the shops and restaurants of Palm Desert in under thirty minutes. Even better, the scenic Palms to Pines Highway takes you there. Idyllwild and the world famous art academy are nearby, allowing art collectors and appreciators to take advantage of the natural inventory.

For horse lovers, the active Equestrian Club maintains 26 miles of trails for horseback riding and hiking and also the arena at the Commons. For families, Garner Valley is part of the Hemet Unified School District and students attend Hamilton and Idyllwild Schools. For the arts, the Idyllwild Arts Academy and Foundation are nearby, offering cultural activities and private secondary school.

One of the best selling points of Garner Valley is that the average temperature is around 30 degrees cooler than the valley floor. Temperatures regularly reach below freezing in the winter months, allowing one to escape the normal desert heat of surrounding areas.

Garner Valley is a beautiful area that is still wild and indicative of the frontier west while remaining close to the amenities of the city and Palm Springs life. If you are cut of the outdoorsman’s mold but still enjoy the conveniences of urban life, you have found home.
