Thunderbird Heights located in Rancho Mirage – the playground for presidents – is one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Coachella Valley, but with very humble beginnings. Originally Thunderbird Heights was an onion field located outside of Palm Springs in 1951 a group of celebrity investors began development of the Thunderbird Country Club and Thunderbird Heights was a new gated neighborhood located on the hillside above the course.
