Fall is in the air and Palm Springs is buzzing with activity.  With so many things to do and see this time of year, it can be easy to let some of the best slip by.  To help with your planning, we’ve put together a list of exciting new events along with some of our annual favorites.

Desert AIDS Walk
Date/Time: Saturday, October 19; 8 a.m. (registration), 9:30 a.m. AIDS Walk Steps Off
Location: Ruth Hardy Park
Now in its 26th year, the Desert AIDS Walk is a grassroots community event supporting HIV and AIDS services, prevention and advocacy at Desert AIDS Project (D.A.P.).

Palm Spring Fashion Weekend
Date/Time: Friday, October 25 – Sunday, October 27; 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day
Location: Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs
One of today’s hottest fashion designers, Anthony Franco, headlines the 1st Annual Palm Springs Fashion Weekend. As the first major public event at the newly minted Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs, the eclectic fashion weekend will set the tone for one-of-a-kind, trend-setting productions created to stimulate the senses.

Center Stage Gala
Date/Time: Wednesday, October 30; 5:30 to 10 p.m.
Location: Palm Springs Convention Center
Center Stage 2013 promises to be one of the best shows yet, with NBC’s The Voice, and Broadway star Frenchie Davis slated to take the main stage, and Comedian & Host of AMC’S Showville Alec Mapa joining the line-up as Emcee.

The Living Desert’s Howl-O-Ween in Palm Desert
Date/Time: Saturday, October 26 and Sunday, October 27; 11am – 4pm daily
Location: Special Members Only night on Thurs. Oct. 31st 6-8:30pm
Stroll down Berger’s Bluff and experience trick or treat stations representing an old-fashioned General Store, Bank, Saloon, Livery Stable and more. Join us for pumpkin bowling, costume contests and pumpkin decorating. Meet our costumed characters and enjoy animal encounters.

17th Annual Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade
Date/Time: Monday, November 11; 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Location: Palm Canyon Drive between Alejo and Ramon Roads Palm
The City of Palm Springs proudly presents the 17th annual Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade.  One of the largest observances in Southern California, the parade is supported by military units, marching bands, veterans’ organizations and much more.

Palm Springs Art Museum 75th Anniversary Kickoff Party and Membership Drive
Date/Time: Friday, November 22, 6 to 8 p.m.
Location: Palm Springs Art Museum
This event is designed to welcome new members to the Palm Springs Art Museum and enable existing members to renew their memberships and receive entry for either one or two to the party. Based on last year’s Meet The New Museum party, it is expected to again be one of the most fun events of the year in the Coachella Valley.

HighTower’s Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk benefitting Martha’s Village & Kitchen
Date/Time: Thursday, November 28; 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Location: El Paseo Drive in Palm Desert
Our 6th Annual Thanksgiving Day 5K Run/Walk was a great success with over 1,900 people participating; but we’ve only just begun.  This year we’ll have a new course layout on El Paseo, fun activities, and expanded accommodations for spectators.

Desert Arts Festival
Date/Time: Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily
Location: Frances Stevens Park
The Desert Arts Festival will feature numerous artists presenting their original work in all mediums of two and three dimensional fine art, including paintings in acrylic, oils and watercolors, photography, etchings, sculpture in clay, glass, metal, stone and wood.

Desert Living Home Show
Date/Time: Friday, December 6 – Sunday, December 8; 10 a.m to 6 p.m. daily
Location: Palm Springs Convention Center
The twice-yearly convention will showcase designer rooms offering various décor ideas, eco-friendly products and services, how-to demonstrations from simple projects to major repairs and a marketplace and gift pavilion.

Festival of Lights Parade
Date/Time: Saturday, December 7; 5:45 p.m.
Location: The parade starts at Ramon Road and runs along Palm Canyon Drive concluding at Tamarisk.
The theme for this year’s parade is “75 Years of Like No Place Else!” and will feature lighted floats, equestrians, bands, autos, and celebrities.

New York New Year’s Eve Party at Miramonte Resort & Spa in Indian Wells
Date/Time: Dec 31, 2013; 6 to 10 p.m.
Location: Miramonte Resort & Spa
This event includes an elegant buffet dinner, music, DJ, dancing, spa gift cards, party favors and televised New York Ball drop at 9:00pm.
